Chemical peel treatment at The Skin Studio Chelsfield

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel uses a professional solution of skin-friendly acids to gently lift away tired, dull surface cells and encourage the skin to renew itself. Over a course of treatments, that can leave skin looking brighter, smoother and more even, and soften the look of pigmentation and texture.

Peels are one of the most well-established professional skin treatments, and what we love about them is how tailorable they are, from a gentle, no-downtime refresh through to a more targeted course, always matched to your skin rather than a one-size-fits-all formula.

We've taken our time bringing peels in, training and researching properly, because we only wanted to add them once they genuinely complemented the results-focused, skin-health approach we already take, rather than offering them just because everyone else does.

The Skin Reset Peel · 60 mins · £117

Hydrated, balanced skin with a healthy, radiant glow. This targeted peel facial is tailored to your skin's current needs and what you want to achieve, whether that's improving uneven tone and texture, easing congestion or reviving dullness.

Your peel is chosen on the day: lactic to brighten, smooth and support hydration, or alpha beta to address excess oil and congestion. Combining facial massage, a customised mask and replenishing finishing products, it pairs targeted results with the comfort of a full facial, without the downtime of a deep peel.

Best for: dullness, uneven tone and texture, pigmentation, congestion and fine lines.

Not suitable for skin that is currently irritated, sensitised or has a compromised barrier. Suitability is assessed before treatment; if a peel isn't right for your skin on the day, an alternative facial will be recommended.

What a chemical peel can help with

Chemical peels are a versatile treatment, well suited to improving the appearance of a range of common skin concerns.

  • Dullness and lacklustre, tired-looking skin
  • Uneven tone and the appearance of pigmentation
  • Rough texture and congestion
  • Breakouts and blemish-prone skin
  • Fine lines and early signs of ageing

How we'll do it at The Skin Studio

Like everything here, a chemical peel starts with a proper consultation and skin assessment. Honestly, the first thing we work out is whether a peel is even the right treatment for you, and if it is, which type and strength suits your skin. For some concerns a peel can make a real difference; for others there's a better place to start, and we'll always say so. When it is the right choice, it usually works best as a course, with results building gradually as your skin renews.

Peels also pair beautifully with Dermalux LED light therapy to keep skin calm and comfortable, and with Circadia homecare to help you get the most from your results and support your skin between treatments.

Suitability & safety: chemical peels aren't right for everyone, and a consultation and skin assessment is always required first. Certain skin conditions, medications (such as recent isotretinoin/Roaccutane), pregnancy, recent sun exposure and other factors can mean a peel isn't appropriate, and we'll always talk this through honestly and recommend the safest, most suitable plan for your skin.

Chemical peels: your questions

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel uses a professional solution of skin-friendly acids to gently lift away tired, dull surface cells and encourage the skin to renew itself. Over a course of treatments, that can leave skin looking brighter, smoother and more even, and soften the look of pigmentation and texture.

What does a chemical peel help with?

We most often recommend peels for things like dullness, uneven tone, the appearance of pigmentation, rough or congested skin, breakouts and early signs of ageing. Whether a peel is right for you, and which strength suits your skin, is exactly what we'll work out together at a consultation.

Do chemical peels hurt, and is there any downtime?

Most people feel a mild tingling or warmth during the treatment. Afterwards your skin may look a little pink and feel slightly tight, and some peels can cause light flaking over the following days as the skin renews. We tailor the strength to your skin and give you clear aftercare, and we'll talk you through exactly what to expect at your consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

Peels usually work best as a course, spaced a few weeks apart, because the results build gradually as your skin renews. Some people need fewer, some more, so we'll map out a realistic plan for your skin rather than selling you a set number.

How much is The Skin Reset Peel?

The Skin Reset Peel is £117 for a 60-minute appointment. Your peel is chosen on the day, lactic or alpha beta, depending on what your skin needs, and suitability is assessed before treatment.
