Microneedling treatment at The Skin Studio Chelsfield

What is microneedling?

Microneedling uses very fine needles to create thousands of tiny micro-channels in the skin, which encourages it to repair and renew itself. Over a course of treatments, that can soften the look of scarring and leave skin looking smoother, firmer and more even.

It's one of the most well-established professional skin treatments, and what we love about it is that it works with your skin rather than masking anything, supporting real, gradual change you can actually see.

We've taken our time bringing it in, training and researching properly, because we only wanted to add microneedling once it genuinely complemented the results-focused, skin-health approach we already take, rather than offering it just because everyone else does.

What microneedling can help with

Microneedling is a versatile treatment, well suited to improving the appearance of a range of common skin concerns.

  • Skin texture and roughness
  • Enlarged or visible pores
  • Fine lines and early signs of ageing
  • Scarring, including the appearance of acne scarring
  • Overall tone, firmness and healthier-looking skin

How we'll do it at The Skin Studio

Like everything here, microneedling starts with a proper consultation and skin assessment. Honestly, the first thing we work out is whether microneedling is even the right treatment for you. For some concerns it can make a real difference; for others there's a better place to start, and we'll always say so. When it is the right choice, it usually works best as a course, with results building gradually as your skin renews.

It also pairs beautifully with Dermalux LED light therapy to keep recovery calm and comfortable, and with Circadia homecare to help you get the most from your results.

Suitability & safety: microneedling isn't right for everyone, and a consultation and skin assessment is always required first. Certain skin conditions, medications (such as recent isotretinoin/Roaccutane), pregnancy and other factors can mean it isn't appropriate, and we'll always talk this through honestly and recommend the safest, most suitable plan for your skin.

Microneedling: your questions

What is microneedling?

Microneedling uses very fine needles to create thousands of tiny micro-channels in the skin, which encourages it to repair and renew itself. Over a course of treatments, that can soften the look of scarring and leave skin looking smoother, firmer and more even.

What does microneedling help with?

We most often recommend it for things like the appearance of acne scarring, uneven texture, enlarged-looking pores and early signs of ageing. Whether it's right for you really depends on your skin and your goals, which is exactly what we'll work out together at a consultation.

Is there any downtime with microneedling?

Most people have some redness and warmth afterwards, a bit like mild sunburn, which usually settles within a day or two. We'll give you clear aftercare, and we can pair treatments with Dermalux LED to keep recovery comfortable. We'll confirm exactly what to expect at your consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

It usually works best as a course, with sessions a few weeks apart, because the results build gradually as your skin renews. Some people need fewer, some more, so we'll map out a realistic plan for you rather than selling you a set number.

When will microneedling be available?

Microneedling is joining the menu soon. We're now qualified and finalising the details, so register your interest and we'll let you know the moment it's bookable.
